Domains are suggestions, not availability checks — look them up at any domain registrar. Before you commit to a name, search it locally and check your country’s business and trademark registers.

Three tests for a tutoring business name

  • The phone test. Say it out loud to someone and ask them to type it. If they spell it wrong, so will parents searching for you.
  • The guess test. Could a stranger guess what you do from the name alone? “Leeds Maths Tutoring” passes. “Ascend” does not.
  • The growth test. Will the name still fit if you add a subject, move online, or take on another tutor?

Before you commit

Search the name with your town to check nobody nearby already uses it, look it up on your country’s business and trademark registers, and check the domain and social handles. Then pick the domain — our guide to choosing a domain name for your tutoring business covers the details.

Questions about this tool

Should I use my own name for my tutoring business?

If you tutor alone and want to stay that way, often yes — parents are hiring you, and your name is the one they will search for. A separate business name is worth it if you plan to bring in other tutors or might sell the business one day.

Does the generator check if a domain is available?

No. It suggests a matching .com so you can look it up at any domain registrar. If the .com is taken, the country domain (.co.uk, .ca, .com.au) is often a better fit for a local tutoring business anyway.

What makes a good tutoring business name?

Easy to say over the phone, easy to spell after hearing it once, and clear enough that someone can guess what you do. Including your subject or area helps people find you; clever wordplay usually does not.

Is there a limit on how many names I can generate?

No. Press “More ideas” as often as you like. It runs entirely in your browser and needs no signup.
